Biography


Adorna Carroll, DSA, CRB, ABR/M, SRS, SRES, SFR, GRI, PMN, ePRO, is the Vice-President and Owner/Broker of Realty3, a large multi-office firm in Connecticut.  In addition to troubleshooting agent field issues, Adorna is responsible for the firm’s policies/procedures, systems, infrastructure, Internet /intranet, company mergers/acquisitions and strategic initiatives. 

Adorna is the President of Dynamic Directions, Inc. an educational and sales training consulting firm.  In addition to being an international speaker and sales trainer in the area of Association Leadership Training, Strategic & Business Planning, Agency Relationships and Buyer Representation, Adorna has been named to the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council (REBAC’s) Hall of Fame and is a founding partner and co-author of the SRS – Seller Representative Specialist designation course.

In 1997, she completed her term as the State President for the CT Association of Realtors, was the 2001 Region 1 Vice President, a NAR Liaison in 2002, 2003, and 2007, RPAC Trustee in 2004, the 2005 NAR VP & Liaison to Committees, NAR’s Chief Political Fundraiser in 2006, is a member of the President’s Circle and RPAC Hall of Fame and is the 79th recipient of NAR’s Distinguished Service Award.

Adorna has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and has been awarded five Who’s Who awards beginning with “Who’s Who of American Women”, “Finance and Industry”, “Emerging Leaders”, “Who’s Who in the East” and “Who’s Who in America.”

Amy Chorew has been teaching REALTORS® to use technology since 1995. As an experienced salesperson and marketing director for one of Connecticut's prestigious Brokerages, Amy puts her talents to use by creating fun learning environments for her students. Amy's straightforward approach to education is backed up by real field experience that Brokers and salespeople appreciate as they learn new technology skills.

Since 2000, Amy has expanded her career as an educator from the New England area to a national presence. As an approved instructor in many states, Amy teaches a variety of CE, GRI and skill development courses for REALTOR® Associations and Brokerages across America and Canada. Amy is co-author of NAR’s ePro® certification and runs the TechByte that does technology consulting and coaching.

Biography


Hugh Foy, REI, was an active real estate salesperson and broker for 25 years in his home city of Brantford, Ontario. He was Office Manager and Trainer for Royal LePage Action Realty, an office of over 40 sales staff. For 19 years, Hugh instructed the Introduction to Real Estate Phases, Mortgage Financing, Office Management and Professional Brokerage courses throughout the province. Hugh has been extensively involved in all three levels of organized real estate, serving on over 50 committees as a member or chairperson, President of his local board three times and OREA in 1998. Presently, Hugh is employed as Director of Commercial and Member Development for the Toronto Real Estate Board, where his 30-year background in real estate and office management provides him with extensive knowledge of the real estate profession.

Biography


Barry Lebow, FRI, CRF, CRA, ASA, CERC, DAC, IFAS, Arbitrator & Mediator, Professional Land Economist, has been a TREB Member since 1968.

He sold 100 houses in his first year in business. Barry sold the first condos in Ontario, developed the first Chinese plaza in Agincourt, and was one of the first mass renovators in Riverdale, Cabbagetown.

Barry is a leading appraiser, mortgage broker, renovator, consultant, arbitrator, educator, and an author/columnist for REM Magazine. He has testified as a multi-disciplined real estate expert in more than 500 trials across North America.

He is also considered one of the leading experts in real estate stigma in Canada.

Barry is the Founder of the Accredited Senior Agent designation program.

Biography


Emily Leung, Technology Learning Specialist, Toronto Real Estate Board, has worked in the field of adult education for the last 12 years. She has been with TREB since 2001 and is involved in everything from course delivery, design and documentation to designing online learning materials. Ms. Leung is particularly interested in the field of diversity in learning styles and finds a great deal of enjoyment in personally instructing Members in a classroom environment.

Jason Mercer is the Toronto Real Estate Board’s Senior Manager of Market Analysis.  He leads TREB’s market analysis program that provides products and services that help REALTORS® and their clients fully understand trends in the GTA housing market and underlying economic drivers.  Jason has private and public sector experience in the real estate industry, having previously held positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.  He possesses a Bachelor of Arts degree from Simon Fraser University and a Master of Science in Planning degree from the University of Toronto.

Biography


David O’Gorman has been active in mortgage lending for more than 30 years. He is a graduate of Dalhousie University and earned his Certificate in Real Estate Finance (CRF) from the Real Estate Institute of Canada and is a Certified Professional Mortgage Broker (CPMB). Since 1987, he has owned his own mortgage brokerage firm, MortgageLand Inc. As well as mortgage brokering, David actively practices, and has been acknowledged by the Ontario Superior Courts of Justice, as an expert witness in matters related to negligent/incompetent/fraudulent mortgage lending and mortgage brokering.

Since 1988, David has been a certified instructor of mortgage financing for the Ontario 
Real Estate Association (OREA) and has been instructing the RECO Update course since its inception. He is the first non-REBBA registrant to be awarded OREA’s prestigious “Excellence in Education” Award.

During his years as a real estate educator, David has seen the impact of various new immigrant groups on the real estate economy and the need for cultural understanding by all real estate related professionals. To that end, he developed this course and, with David Lang, the more intense Understanding Real Estate & Cultural Diversity.

Cindy Pinkus
 
Biography


Cindy Pinkus, LL.B., a lawyer since 1983, carries on her practice in Thornhill, Ontario. She has developed courses on negotiation as well as various aspects of real estate and estate law. Her writing has appeared in the Ontario Bar Admission Course. Cindy became faculty for The Law Society of Upper Canada in 1998, after a fifteen-year career as a litigation and real estate lawyer. Recognized as a professional development expert, Cindy led a team of professionals in the redesign of the Bar Admission Course in order to make the training more practical and interactive. In 2001 and 2002, Cindy served as Director of the Bar Admission for The Law Society of Upper Canada.

Since returning to the practice of law in 2002, Cindy has focused on both real estate and estate law, provided professional development consulting services to one of Canada’s leading law firms, and presented courses on legal matters as well as negotiation and communication skills to lawyers, REALTORS®, entrepreneurs, consultants and chartered accountants.

Lou Radomsky, B.A., LL.B., REI, is a lawyer practicing real estate and corporate commercial law in Toronto. He began his professional career as an elementary school teacher. Lou is a graduate of Osgood Hall Law School and became a lawyer in 1977. He is an approved OREA Continuing Education and Registration Education instructor and holds the REI designation from OREA.

France Raymond, B.A., Technology Learning Specialist, Toronto Real Estate Board, started teaching at TREB in 2004. She left her own training business to join TREB full-time in February 2010 where she has been an active member in the design and delivery of course curriculum. David van Hoogenhuize, M.A., B.Ed. has been a qualified teacher in the Province of Ontario for twenty-one years. He has been teaching adult education for 20 years, eleven years of which have been spent in the employ of the Toronto Real Estate Board. He also possesses a Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) certification (Advanced level) and is a member of the Canadian Society of Training & Development and the Ontario College of Teachers. David is the Manager of Member Communications at TREB, and a former Technology Learning Specialist with the Board.

Karen Weinstein is a graduate of York University with a background in education, real estate, and technology. She spent several years working as a licensed real estate salesperson before returning to education. Her experience comes from years of teaching in elementary school and facilitating adult education courses in career-focused schools. The past 15 years of her experience have been as a technical trainer, developing and delivering courses. Karen has her Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) expert certification. She has been with the Toronto Real Estate Board since 2005.

Mark Weisleder, LL.B., REI, is a real estate lawyer, author and speaker. Mark has been developing courses and speaking for real estate associations, boards and private Brokerages since 1984 on topics such as Real Property Law, RECO Real Estate Updates, Privacy Law, Building Customer Loyalty and Customer Relationship Management.

Previously, Mark was a partner at the Toronto law firms Minden, Gross and Thomson, Rogers and as in-house counsel to Bell Mobility. In private practice, Mark specialized in corporate commercial and real estate matters acting for entrepreneurs and developers. At Bell Mobility, Mark was first in-house counsel and then the general manager for customer experience, responsible for the retail experience at Bell World as well as call centre support.

Mark is a weekly columnist for Real Estate News in the Toronto Star and has also authored the top selling industry book, “Real Estate Salespeople, Beware!”, and his latest book, “Put the Pen Down!, What homebuyers and sellers need to know before signing on the dotted line.”
